Walking History Tours
Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society will launch guided walking tours of Port Washington's historic Bay Walk shoreline! Join a knowledgeable tour guide walking the shoreline while you see and learn the fascinating history of early Port Washington.
The 90 minute walk will meet at the Town Dock's tugboat and end one mile later at the Port North Dock, opposite the Stop & Shop / Home Goods parking lot. Topics will include the livelihoods that helped Port develop into the town you know today, including shell fishing, sand mining, aviation, the yacht clubs, the tidal mills, the restaurants, the many hotels and much more.
Tours will be held the first Saturday & Sunday at 11 am through October. Adults: $8, Seniors (65+): $5, Children (12 and under): $1 (in strollers or backpacks free) Reservations are required and group size is limited to 15. Please register at cowneck.org. Port Washington Harborfest 2017, from 10AM to 5PM
The PW Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the 27th HarborFest Dock Day and Craft Fair. It has grown into a major LI festival on the shores and in the waters of Manhasset Bay.
HarborFest offers all day fun for the whole family. Visitors can go out on the bay aboard the schooner SoundWaters or the PW Water Taxi, or by kayak. The craft fair with 100 vendors lines lower Main Street. The Children's Fun Park with a stage for a talent show and entertainment just for children, carnival games, crafts, hands-on science fun, sports, a Treasure Hunt and the model boat regatta. PW Fire Department's Fire Boat will be on display. TheEnviro-Expo, a prominent part of every HarborFest, has educational exhibits by many LI organizations.
The BID trolley provides free rides to and from the festival. Entertainment at the Tugboat is provided by the nautical singing group Stout, and performances by Harmony Sky, the Red Stocking Revue, the Wright Brothers, and World Tae Kwon Do.
Art in the Park with The Art Guild is back with beautiful displays and free workshops. Of course, many wonderful merchants and organizations have booths on the dock.
The HarborFest Fabulous Food Court offers gourmet selections from Port's finest restaurants, as well as popular and delicious festival food.

Pack a lunch and wear appropriate clothing and sneakers (no skirts). Limited seating on the boat. The Manorhaven Street Festival on Manorhaven Blvd. in Port Washington 11:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Join your friends and neighbors for a day of family fun, food, vendors, and entertainment. Free balloon sculptures with Annabelle the Clown, a face painter and petting zoo are all free to the children who attend. A free Classic Car Show will take place in the Preserve.

Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society Thomas Dodge House Tours- 2 pm sharp, and by appointment. Group tours by prior arrangement. The brown-shingled Thomas Dodge Homestead (c. 1721) is one of the oldest extant house in the Port Washington area. It has long been a favorite local landmark. Thomas Dodge I built the house after migrating to Cow Neck from Block Island in 1718. Seven generations of the Dodge family lived in the house. The house has changed little since its construction.
